Frequently Asked Questions

Will I own my site after it is built?

The site and domain name will belong to you, and we will assist in any migration should you wish to move to a different hosting provider.

What about future content edits?

We can provide full admin access to the backend of the site, allowing you to change content, publish blog posts or add new products. However, it's very easy for non-technical people to accidentally break a site this way. For that reason, dedicated content editing time is included in our aftercare packages.

How much will it cost me?

Every site is different, and the overall cost depends on the complexity of the project, the length of time it takes to create and any additional work that is required (photoshoots, content writing, graphic design etc.). For that reason we would only be able to give you a tailor-made quote after assessing the project requirements.

Will you take over the management of my existing site?

Unfortunately not. We are only currently able to manage sites that have been built by Fairfield Creative.

What does the design process involve?

We will first arrange a meeting, either in person or via video, to discuss your exact requirements, delivery schedule and any other relevant information. This is also a prefect time for us to get a feel for your brand and ethos. We will then go away and come up with a plan, create a home page mockup, if required, and provide you with a quote for all the work.

Once all of that is signed off, we will begin the building process. We normally require half of the fee once the homepage is created. During the development phase, the site will be hosted on a temporary URL, allowing you to be involved in the entire process.

Once the site is complete, we will have a short testing phase to eliminate any last bugs and then the site will be launched. We will then begin any scheduled monthly maintenance that has be agreed.

Can't I just make my own website using a site builder?

Absolutely, you can certainly try making your own website using a site builder. While these platforms have their merits, it's important to acknowledge their limitations. Often, DIY websites can end up feeling clunky, loaded with unnecessary bloat and features that might slow down your site and compromise the user experience. Moreover, they might lack essential design elements that only a skilled professional developer can seamlessly integrate.
